T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings, Saridis of Athens, Rare 'Trapeza' End or Side Table, Walnut, Greece, 1960s

A rare and important “Trapeza” end table, designed by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings circa 1937 and manufactured in walnut by Saridis of Athens, Greece. The sculptural form reflect Gibbings’ modern interpretation of classical Greek furniture and his important and highly collectible collaboration with Saridis.

The underside of retains a Greek-language Saridis metal plaque reading “ΣXEΔION – T.H. ROBSJOHN-GIBBINGS / EKTEΛEΣIΣ – ΣAPIΔHΣ A.E.,” impressed 60918 twice.
