T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings, Saridis of Athens, Rare 'Trapeza' End or Side Tables, Walnut, Greece, 1960s

A rare and important “Trapeza” end table designed by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings circa 1937 and manufactured in walnut by Saridis of Athens, Greece. The sculptural forms reflect Gibbings’ modern interpretation of classical Greek furniture and his important and highly collectible collaboration with Saridis.

The underside retains a metal plaque reading “DESIGNED BY – T.H. ROBSJOHN GIBBINGS / MANUFACTURED BY – SARIDIS OF ATHENS,” impressed 104075.
