Maison Jansen Style, Hollywood Regency, Commodes, Ebonized Wood, Bronze, Marble, 20th century

A fine pair of Louis XVI style commodes in the manner of Maison Jansen, produced in France during the mid 20th century. Each example features three dovetailed drawers accented with decorative gilt bronze mounts, round bronze drawer pulls, and finely detailed bronze trim throughout. The cabinets are surmounted by thick, richly veined double marble tops and supported by elegant tapered legs terminating in bronze sabots. Both pieces have been newly refinished in a sophisticated black satin finish, beautifully contrasting with the gilt bronze detailing and original marble tops.
