Part of an ongoing body of work called newGROWTH that assist/designer Christopher Poehlmann has been developing since 2005. This pendant is an example of the artist pushing his sculptural boundaries to make the fixture more gestural and lively by introducing complex curves. Most of the fixtures in the newGROWTH series have had exposed bulbs with sockets representing buds. This fixture takes those buds and blossoms them into blown glass orbs with silvered interiors which glow with an ethereal translucency that works in harmony with the antique brass finish applied to the hand made aluminum fixture.
